Courses Offered

All courses were created for anyone who needs to learn CPR including law enforcement, security, corporate and retail employees, school employees, health and fitness staff, daycare staff, healthcare providers/medical staff, community groups such as boy scouts/girl scouts and anyone who is in need of a CPR course completion certification card.

All courses meet American Heart Association standards. Basic Lifesaver (BLS) or Heartsaver certifications offered. Class length may vary depending on the experience level of the individual(s), size of the class and pre-class preparation.

Heartsaver Adult CPR/AED: Techniques for adult CPR (eight years of age and over). Includes introduction to AED - Automated External Defibrillator . This course is for those needing certification in Adult CPR that are not healthcare providers. A comprehensive description and demonstration on how to perform CPR for the adult age group. Basic skills for rescue breathing and choking management also covered. Certification will require successful demonstration of appropriate practice skills.

Heartsaver Infant/Child CPR/AED: Techniques for infant (ages 0 to one year of age) and child (one to 8 years of age). Includes introduction to AED - Automated External Defibrillator. This course is for those needing certification in infant and child CPR that are not healthcare providers. A comprehensive description and demonstration on how to perform CPR for the infant and child age group. Basic skills for rescue breathing and choking management also covered. Certification will require successful demonstration of appropriate practice skills.

Heartsaver Adult/Infant/Child CPR/AED:  Basic life saving techniques for all age groups, from newborn to the elderly. Includes introduction to AED - Automated External Defibrillator. This course is for those needing certification in adult, infant and child CPR that are not healthcare providers. A comprehensive description and demonstration on how to perform CPR for the adult, infant and child age group. Basic skills for rescue breathing and choking management also covered. Certification will require successful demonstration of appropriate practice skills.

BLS (Basic Life Saving) for the Healthcare Provider and Public Safety: Advanced CPR for individuals who have a job related 'duty to respond' to emergencies.  This course is recommended for medical professionals, physicians, nurses, lifeguards, paramedics, police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, and medical or nursing students. Participants learn how to recognize and provide care in respiratory and cardiac emergencies for adults, children and infants, with emphasis on one and two rescuer CPR, use of a resuscitation mask, bag-valve mask and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). 

Heartsaver Basic First Aid: A course detailing management of basic injuries such as broken bones, bleeding and burns. Other medical emergencies such as how to recognize symptoms of a diabetic reaction, a seizure and heart attack are also covered. A suitable course for new parents, daycare providers, corporate/industrial employees and others interested in basic emergency management.

Bloodborne Pathogens: This training module is designed to provide an awareness or basic understanding of bloodborne pathogens, common modes of their transmission, methods of prevention, and other pertinent information. Meets OSHA requirements for at risk employees.
